A beautifully refined silhouette has been born from a design that confronts a three-dimensional form—the handle of the kitchen knife.
Designed by product designer Takashi Ifuji, this handle stands apart among the many shapes that exist today, offering an exceptional sense of refined form.
When held, it provides a remarkably comfortable fit to the hand and fingers—truly a design filled with functional elegance.
By adopting a full-tang construction, the knife achieves an ideal weight balance. Despite being full-tang, there are no visible rivets securing the handle. This reflects a focus on refined design and balanced weight.
The handle is made from black Micarta, a lightweight and highly durable material often used in high-end outdoor knives. Its layered structure is enhanced with a geometric, checker-like surface finish that highlights the material’s natural patterns and elevates the overall silhouette. The matte black sheen subtly changes with the light, creating an almost mesmerizing effect that draws the eye along its flowing lines.
The blade is crafted from VG-10 stainless steel, renowned for its excellent corrosion resistance and sharpness. Finished with a satin polish, every detail has been meticulously refined. With its carefully selected stainless steel offering optimal hardness and rust resistance, a handle designed for both beauty and comfort, and perfectly balanced weight distribution, this knife represents a flawless harmony of aesthetics and functionality.
Proudly made in Seki City, Gifu Pref.—an area with a long and distinguished tradition of blade-making.
